Yoga taught by the methods of B.K.S. Iyengar, who is still practicing in Pune, India. Classes will introduce you to a range of yoga postures (Asanas). Some postures are quite strenuous, others relaxing. Teaching will be systematic with plenty of explicit demonstration, instruction and feedback, including hands-on correction of poses. Wear non-restrictive clothing, have bare feet and try to avoid eating anything substantial for two hours prior to the class. Do not start Iyengar Yoga with an introductory teacher if already pregnant. Tell your teacher as soon as possible if you become pregnant. Please check with your doctor if you have any medical condition that might make Iyengar Yoga unsuitable for you. Hard work in your practice will give you strength, flexibility, improved circulation, breathing and digestion. Better concentration and emotional health may accompany your gains in physical fitness.
